Two of our previously featured Australian talents LOVER and Golden Vessel have come together to create beguiling bedroom-pop song ‘Spiders’. The track was born out of a co-writing session at a house in Sydney, when they struck upon some chords which really resonated with the pair. From there, LOVER joined the breezy production with a story from Greek mythology, as he recounts “humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.” This potential creepy tale turns unfalteringly romantic through the lens of LOVER’s words and Golden Vessel’s off-kilter soundtrack, which sings of the pathway to the person that may complete you. - Hannah Thacker
